When you arrive at the Cho-Cafe Plantation, you’ll visit a typical Dominican family house, and get a glimpse of local life and how meals are prepared in wood-fired stoves. After that, wander through the plantation on a lush, overgrown path, stopping along the way to learn about the history and benefits of various crops. You’ll see the production and processes (and enjoy tastings) of a range of products, including coffee, coconut oil, vanilla, tobacco, the unique drink Mama Juana, and of course the DR’s world-class chocolate. Discover cocoa’s tasty history and how chocolate is made from cacao beans, then tuck into scrumptious samples!
